Why aren’t the stories launching in the right locations?

Your phone’s GPS feature may not be functioning properly.
If you have an iPhone, you can check this by opening Apple Maps. When the map opens, you should see your location indicated by a blue dot. If the GPS signal is weak, that dot will have a light blue circle around it. The larger the circle, the less accurate your GPS function is.

GPS accuracy can be affected by various factors, such as weather conditions, tall buildings, and dense tree coverage, as well as issues related to your device, including:
· Low battery. Be sure your battery is adequately charged before taking the tour.
· Required software updates. Check your device settings to see if any software updates are due. If this does not solve the problem, try restarting your phone. If this doesn’t work, try a “soft reset”:

On an iPhone:
Press the volume “Up” button
Press the volume “Down” button
Hold the power button until you see the Apple logo.

On an Android:
Hold the power and volume “Down” button simultaneously until the screen goes dark.
Then let go of the buttons.

· Poor GPS signal. This can happen, for example, when you travel to a new place or your device’s location service is not functioning correctly. To improve your GPS signal, go to your device’s settings and try these steps individually:
On an iPhone:
Go to “Privacy” and select “Location Services.” Turn them off and then on again. Then scroll down to “TravelStorys” and make sure the location permissions are set to “Always Allow.” This will allow your tour to trigger properly and help preserve your device’s battery. || Note: This requirement is purely for app functionality. TravelStorys does not collect user location data.
Turn the airplane mode on, then wait 20 minutes before turning it off again.
Reset your network settings by selecting the “General” tab. Then click on “Transfer or Reset Device” and select “Reset” and then “Reset Network Settings.” ||| Note: After doing this, you will need to re-enter all Wi-Fi passwords.
Reset your location and privacy settings by selecting the “General” tab. Then click on “Transfer or Reset Device” and select “Reset” and then “Reset Location & Privacy.” ||| Note: After doing this, you may need to enter your phone’s passcode. You will also need to re-grant permission for any apps using the location feature (including TravelStorys).
Completely drain your phone battery and then recharge it completely.

On an Android:
Improve location accuracy by going to “Settings” and selecting “Location,” then “Location Services” and “Google Location Accuracy.” Then turn the “Improve Location Accuracy” toggle off and then on again. Next, go to "Settings" and select “TravelStorys.” Make sure the location permissions are set to “Always Allow.” This will allow your tour to trigger properly and help preserve your device’s battery. || Note: This requirement is purely for app functionality. TravelStorys does not collect user location data.
Turn on Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning by going to “Settings” and selecting “Location,” then “Location Services” and “Wi-Fi Scanning.” Then turn the “Wi-Fi Scanning” toggle off and then on again. Repeat the same steps with “Bluetooth Scanning.”
Calibrate your device’s compass by opening Google Maps and tapping on the blue dot marking your location. This should produce a summary of “Your Location.” If your GPS isn’t working properly, a “Location accuracy is low” message will appear at the end of this summary. Tap on “Calibrate” and then move your phone in a figure-8 manner until it indicates that the compass is calibrated.
